Parish Church of Bruck and der Leitha in 360°
The former parish church of Bruck an der Leitha, St. Martin's church outside the city walls was destroyed several times by the Turks. Thus, the Council decided to build a new church within the city. This Roman Catholic parish church of Holy Trinity was erected during the first phase (1696-1702) in the middle of town next to a much older 53-meter high watch tower. The second phase (1738 - 1740) meant replacement of the simple facade with a magnificent two-storey facade, a work of architect Johann Georg Windpässinger.
1. What to see
The central statue on the facade of the parish church is carved by Martin Vögerl above the main portal depicts the figure of St. John of Nepomuk. Other figures include St. Sebastian, St. Florian, St. Leopold and Holy Archangel Michael.
Church interior covered with a barrel vault measures 42 meters length and 14 meters width, and the chapel niches on both sides are each measuring 3 meters. The baroque main altar from 1704 was sponsored by Johann Jacob Stumpf, advice and personal physician of Emperor Leopold I. Its altarpiece shows the representation of the Holy Trinity from the vicinity of Daniel Gran.

By car
The actual route to be taken depends on your location. If travelling from Sopron, Hungary then follow road 84 and 85 to Fertőszentmiklós, drive to the border to Austria and follow road 51 to Halbturn. Continue to Neusiedl am See and Parndorf to get finally to Bruck an der Leitha. If staying in Eisenstadt, Austria simply follow road 50 around Neusiedler Lake.

If looking for cheap accomodation to excplore monuments of Burgenland, an option can be to select a hotel in the neaby city of Sopron, Hungary. If staying in Austria, it is recommended to stay in Eisenstadt, the regional center of Burgenland.
