Underwater World in 360°
Underwater World is a mostly underground oceonarium, one of the highlights of Sentosa Island opened in 1991. It has more than 2500 marine animals of 250 species from different regions of the world.
1. What to see
The oceonarium features several attractions like the touch pool where visitors can touch several types of fish, or the exhibition of living fossils and rare species. There is also an 83-metre long underwater tunnel built using 6-millimetre thick acrylic-windows. This enables visitors to watch coral reefs, stingrays, moray eels, turtles and sharks from a very realistic and close point of view.
2. Location
3. How to get there
Most tourists visit Singapore on a package tour that allows them to spend 2-3 days in the city. This limited timespan might include a half-day trip to Sentosa Island, themed as Asia's favourite playground. There are plenty of things to do on this island: you can learn a lot about marine life in Underwater World, understand the multiethnic roots of Singapore in Images of Singapore Museum, watch the latest movies in the IMAX theatres etc.
4. Where to stay
There are plenty of hotels to stay in Singapore, the best ones are located either at the city center or at the Island of Sentosa.
